Gazechim Accelerates the Deployment of COOLGREENCYCLE and Expands Its Network of Distillation Units for Refrigerant Reclamation Across Europe

Following two years of industrial operation of its first distillation unit, the Gazechim Group is entering a new investment phase with the construction of a second-generation unit in Brittany, France, as well as an additional project in the United Kingdom.

This strategy aims to address the challenges of the circular economy and the evolving European F-Gas Regulation, which will gradually reduce the use of virgin refrigerants with a high global warming potential.

The COOLGREENCYCLE programme is based on an innovative distillation technology developed in collaboration with the academic community and supported by the France Relance recovery plan.

The new facilities will benefit from the experience gained from the first unit, as well as the latest technological advances to optimise industrial and energy performance.

Ultimately, this European network of facilities will significantly increase treatment and regeneration capacity, bringing these operations closer to local markets.

With this new investment, the Gazechim Group will rapidly reach a processing capacity capable of helping to prevent the emission of nearly 2 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalent per year.

This project represents a major milestone in the Group’s environmental strategy and reinforces its ambition to become a leading European player in the recovery and regeneration of refrigerants.
