A new aquatic center for Gazechim Gaz Liquefiés: “Avatica la Piscine”, in Martigues (Bouches-du-Rhône).
The center has just acquired a 50 m Nordic-type pool, which was recognized in November 2021. This outdoor Olympic pool is heated all year round to 28°C.
In winter, hot water is produced by 450 m² of photovoltaic panels and solar collectors installed on the roof.
Patrick Baldelli is the director of Avatica since 2017. Arrived in Martigues in 1992 as swimming club coach, he has always had a technical eye on the pools encountered during his travels, and has thus been able to have the aquatic center equipment.
Note: Until 2024, Avatica welcomes the Pôle Excellence team for open water and middle distance swimming, led by Philippe Lucas.
Interior space:
· 25 m pool, 6 lanes
· Initiation pool of 12.5 x 12.5 m
Outdoor space:
· 50 m heated Nordic pool, open all year round, with 8 lanes
· Pool 0.6 m deep, open in summer for children under 6 years old.
